Nixon Peabody Announces New Leadership for Business Department; Philip B. Taub Will Lead Firm’s Business and Finance Department

New York, NY. International law firm Nixon Peabody LLP has named Philip B. Taub as chair of the firm’s Business and Financial Services department, which includes almost 300 attorneys worldwide. Most recently, Mr. Taub was leader of the firm’s national Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Company Transactions practice groups.

Mr. Taub succeeds the department’s previous leader, Charles P. Jacobs, who will continue to concentrate his practice on representing sponsors and investors in the formation of investment funds. Mr. Jacobs currently leads the firm’s Investment Funds practice.

Mr. Taub focuses his practice in the area of corporate transactional work, including mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, start-ups, shareholder disputes, and venture capital financing. His clients include an impressive and diverse roster of private equity funds, private wealth, publicly traded companies, and privately held businesses from coast to coast around the United States and in Europe.

Mr. Taub earned his J.D. from the George Washington University National Law Center. He received his bachelor’s degree from Boston University.
