Megan Palmer is a member of the Tax Credit Finance & Syndication group, focusing her practice on Historic Tax Credits and New Markets Tax Credits (NMTCs). Megan regularly handles a variety of NMTC-related work, including certification, compliance, and allocation agreement matters for CDE clients. Megan’s HTC work includes representation of investors and developers in tax-advantaged financings of rehabilitations of a wide variety of properties including hotels; theaters and cultural centers; social services uses; and office; retail; and mixed-use properties.
Before joining Nixon Peabody LLP, Megan worked for the Legal Aid Society representing tenant associations and individual tenants before the Housing Court and the Supreme Court in New York City. She initiated proceedings to correct housing violations, defended tenant associations in nonpayment proceedings, and negotiated and drafted contracts for relocation of tenants and settlement of complaints.
