Government Relations & Public Policy

Nixon Peabody’s Government Relations and Public Policy practice was formed to respond to our clients’ need for a better understanding of the legislative and regulatory policies being considered and adopted by our federal and state governments. In an environment where it is increasingly difficult to chart future business plans, this group assists our clients in developing and achieving sound, achievable business plans when government or governmental policy is integral to those plans. From development of strategy to representation before the executive branch, the U.S. Congress, and state governments, our professionals provide the full range of services necessary to achieve our clients’ objectives.

The professionals in Nixon Peabody’s Government Relations and Public Policy practice have the ability to focus on a wide array of public policy matters, including housing and community development, real estate, tax, public finance and infrastructure, energy (including renewable energy incentives), environment and natural resources, health care, financial services, global finance and international business affairs, life sciences, education, automobile manufacturing, and transportation issues. With extensive experience working with and in the executive and legislative branches of government, our professionals have the knowledge and resources to further our clients’ interests in these important policy areas. The firm’s attorneys, advisors, and policy analysts include a former member of the U.S. Congress, Congressional staff, and professionals who have served in key positions in the Department of Housing & Urban Development, the Department of the Treasury, and the Internal Revenue Service.
