Nixon Peabody partner Rebecca Simone will be a speaker for the American Health Law Association CLE program “Telemedicine Series Part I: Telehealth Today – Compliance and Reimbursement Considerations.”
From the event website: This webinar will provide an overview of current issues in telehealth, focusing on how telehealth has evolved and the current status of compliance and reimbursement issues. The speakers will first highlight corporate practice of medicine (CPOM) and state licensing laws issues to consider when geographically scaling telehealth services/companies and describe the current state of e-prescribing requirements. In addition, the speakers will address Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial coverage and reimbursement of telehealth and other remote services. The webinar will review the current status of the COVID waivers/flexibilities and discuss how these flexibilities led to the proliferation of telehealth companies during the pandemic and to significant innovation in direct-to-consumer telehealth businesses. Our speakers will describe and explore various direct-to-consumer business models and the related risks.
