Boston, MA. ChIPs—a global organization of women in law, tech, and policy—has named Nixon Peabody to its 2022 Honor Roll for the firm’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace. Nixon Peabody is one of only two firms recognized for “Excellence in Inclusion for All.”
The ChIPs 2022 Honor Roll is based on the annual Inclusion Blueprint, a joint initiative between ChIPs and Diversity Lab, a legal industry incubator that aims to increase DEI in the legal profession. The Inclusion Blueprint measures actions that lead to greater diversity and provides firm management and practice group leaders with a roadmap of inclusion initiatives to ensure underrepresented lawyers have fair and equal access to quality work, influential sponsors, and other opportunities.
“Diversity, equity, and inclusion are core values of our firm, and we are proud to be recognized for our continued progress in these areas,” said Stephen Zubiago, Nixon Peabody CEO and managing partner. “We are deeply committed to recruiting, developing, and retaining colleagues from diverse backgrounds who represent the communities we serve. While we have made significant strides in building a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization, we recognize that there’s still work to be done and are committed to continuing to learn and evolve.”
In July, Diversity Lab named Nixon Peabody as one of eight Inclusion Champions out of the 240 firms that participated in the Inclusion Blueprint. The firm’s Intellectual Property practice also earned recognition as an Inclusion Champion for IP, one of only 13 practice groups across the country to be recognized.
