/Representative Experience

• Cannadocs: Assisting a medical marijuana entity that helps patients obtain medical marijuana cards in Maryland with filing trademark applications and defending against a trademark infringement demand letter received from an opponent.
• Cabrini Green Legal Aid Clinic: Established a partnership with the clinic, which offers complimentary legal counsel to those who have experienced a lack of opportunity, criminalization of poverty, and racial inequity in Chicago, Illinois. Assist clients in expunging and sealing convictions from their criminal records, including cannabis convictions as a part of the New Leaf Illinois initiative.
• California Pacific Medical Center (part of the Sutter Health System): Represented in an exclusive licensing agreement with Insys Therapeutics, Inc. As part of the agreement, California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute will license its patent rights related to the use of cannabinoids for the treatment of brain tumors.
• Constellation Brands: Represented the international beer, wine, and spirits leader in a $4 billion investment to create one of the largest players, world-wide, in the legal cannabis market.
• CURE Pharmaceutical: Assisting with patent prosecution work as it pertains to their platform drug delivery technology. Recently, the company has added to its suite of R&D programs one that’s exploring the use of cannabinoids and terepenoids with its platform drug delivery technologies.
• Curio Wellness/Far and Dotter: Represented a medical cannabis franchisor in developing a franchise retail model. This included preparing franchise documents as well as securing franchise registration in five states where medical cannabis is legal to begin licensing their brand.
• Eaze Technologies Inc.: Represented the marijuana delivery platform in the purchase by its subsidiary, Stachs LLC, of Health Healing Holistic Options, Inc., a retail cannabis dispensary in Santa Ana, California..
• Flowhub Holdings, Inc: Advised the software company, which provides point of sale, inventory management, dispensary analytics, and mobile ID scanners targeted to cannabis dispensaries, in connection with allegations of breach of contract arising out of its platform being down for a five-hour window on April 20, the busiest day of the year for cannabis sales.
