Boston, MA. Nixon Peabody LLP has named longtime Chief Financial Officer Rich McCarthy as the AmLaw 100 firm’s new Chief Operating Officer.
Rich will serve as the senior leader for Nixon Peabody professional staff, responsible for all firm operations, including finance, human resources, knowledge management, IT, and administrative services. He has served as the firm’s CFO for more than a decade, consistently accelerating Nixon Peabody’s profitability over that time and guiding the firm’s Finance team with a people-centered approach.

Prior to joining Nixon Peabody in 2013, Rich served in senior financial leadership roles at several premier firms, both inside and outside the legal industry.
Rich is a certified public accountant (CPA), and holds a master in business administration (MBA) from Babson College and a bachelor of business administration (BBA) in finance from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts.
