For Pride Month, we’re highlighting organizations that are making a positive impact on the LGBTQ+ community.
Legal Aid Society Northeastern New York: Albany partner Daniel Hurteau interviews Lillian M. Moy, the executive director of the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York (LASNNY). At its core, LASNNY uses the law to help vulnerable populations to meet their basic needs. This is especially critical among low-income LGBTQ+ people at risk regarding income, physical safety, health, and freedom. Dan and Lillian discuss how LASNNY’s gender identity clinics level the playing field for the LGBTQ+ community.
Alliance for Housing and Healing: Los Angeles partner Robert Pepple interviews his long-time pro bono client, Terry Goddard II, the executive director of the Alliance for Housing and Healing. The Alliance for Housing and Healing provides life-saving medical care and housing to homeless Los Angelinos with HIV/AIDS. Robert and Terry discuss the origins of the Alliance, and how it has adapted to serve the evolving needs of the at-risk community at the core of its mission.
