Alexandra Azad represents developers, property-management companies, landlords, real estate investment trusts (REITs), property owners, real estate brokers and agents, homeowners’ associations (HOAs), and members of HOAs.
I defend clients in disputes, landlord-tenant matters, construction and architectural litigation, and quiet title actions. I am knowledgeable on specific real estate laws in the Bay Area, such as the San Francisco Rent Ordinance, State-Wide Rent Control regulations, the Costa-Hawkins Rental Housing Act, and other local rent ordinances.
During law school, I received the Lawyering Process Award and was a Dean’s Merit Scholarship recipient. As a legal intern for California Rural Legal Assistance, I worked on landlord-tenant disputes and habitability issues and conducted research on state legislation promulgated during the COVID-19 pandemic for the California Law Revision Commission. Prior to that, I interned for the Humane Society of America, assisting in tracking the progress of animal-related legislation.
