Introduction
Gary Band concentrates his practice in community development and finance. His primary focus is representing tax equity investors and syndicators in connection with projects that generate renewable energy tax credits and low-income housing tax credits.
My focus
Renewable energy
Much of my work in the past twelve years has concentrated on the financing of renewable energy projects that generate renewable energy tax credits. In particular, I have led teams of attorneys that have closed numerous transactions on behalf of tax equity investors and syndicators, including residential solar portfolios, utility scale solar projects, community solar projects and commercial and industrial solar projects. I have also represented our clients in the financing of small wind facilities.
Low-income housing tax credits
With regard to my work in the low-income housing tax credit area, I have been representing investors and syndicators in this space for over 18 years. I have assisted these clients in making their initial investment in low-income housing projects as well as providing them with asset management advice on an on-going basis.
Looking ahead
I believe we are still in an early phase of the solar industry here in the United States. Although the industry is currently being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, I am still very excited about being a part of the industry at such an early stage and look forward to being a part of its incredible growth.
