Introduction

My focus
Our leadership team is progressive and innovative, making a positive impact for both our clients and our firm. We anticipate and capture opportunities, forecast and manage risks, overcome obstacles, and maximize results.
In our profession, standing still is stagnating. We continually examine the marketplace and our clients’ industries to provide insights and make connections that help them succeed.
As a business and real estate attorney, I advise business owners, asset managers, lenders, developers, special servicers, and professional service firms as they build strategies to restructure, maximize, and capture the value of their assets. I am also a community leader with decades of legal, business, and management experience. I frequently share insights on the legal profession with the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Boston Globe, and others, and I’m active on social media.
I’ve had great success developing client strategies for acquiring, managing, and selling billions of dollars’ worth of assets. My ability to think creatively about complex situations has benefitted numerous businesses, including professional services firms and owners of every kind of real estate asset class.
I also prioritize leadership within the firm and in my community, focusing on client relationships, diversity, mentoring and developing attorneys, board service, and philanthropy. I believe strongly in giving back to my hometown of Brockton, Massachusetts, where I still live today. In Brockton, I focus on education, affordable housing, youth, and seniors. As CEO of Nixon Peabody in 2019, I created a summer mentorship program with Brockton High School, my alma mater.
I have volunteered for more than three decades at Hebrew Senior Life, which provides medical and housing services for the elderly, serving in numerous roles including chairman of the board. I also taught real estate finance in the Carroll School of Management at Boston College for more than 20 years.
Looking ahead
We’re living in a world of constant and rapid change. Today, our attorneys are moving beyond looking at precedent to predict what’s next. Increasingly we are innovators, leading the way by anticipating and capitalizing on future opportunities that contribute to our clients’ success.
