Director of eDiscovery Services
Michael Swiatocha advises clients on e-discovery strategy and best practices. He also manages Nixon Peabody’s e-Discovery Services team, a group of professionals responsible for designing and implementing efficient eDiscovery solutions for legal teams and clients.
I concentrate on leveraging technology to augment legal proficiency, aiming to expedite litigation and government investigations. I assist clients in executing ediscovery swiftly and effectively.
Leveraging over 20 years of experience working on complex litigation and government investigations, I collaborate with attorneys and clients to create and execute e-discovery project plans through all phases of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM). I’ve developed tools and procedures to assist with meeting the requirements of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) regarding electronically stored information (ESI).
Our clients from industries such as health care, finance and technology require cost-effective strategies for identifying and preserving ESI. I work with attorneys to develop defensible strategies that reduce review time and pinpoint highly relevant documents. Using tools such as technology-assisted review (TAR) we reduce overwhelming data volumes to precise data sets that subject matter experts can use to build their case.
The rise of technology-assisted review (TAR) and data analytics continues to transform the litigation process. Increasingly sophisticated tools will allow legal teams to sift through enormous volumes of data efficiently and quickly focus on highly relevant data.
