Albany, NY. Nixon Peabody LLP is pleased to announce that longtime partner Daniel Hurteau has been selected as managing partner of the AmLaw 100 firm’s Albany, New York, office.
Dan, who also serves as deputy leader of the firm’s Complex Disputes practice, has litigated and arbitrated hundreds of cases in administrative proceedings and mediations and in state and federal courts. He focuses on complex business and tort-related actions for pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and healthcare providers, long-term care facilities, and physicians. Dan also represents owners and developers in a wide variety of commercial and construction-related matters.

Zubiago. “He is deeply ingrained in the state’s Capital District and his decades of experience representing clients in Upstate New York position Dan well for leading the Albany office.”
A member of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee, Dan is also a Nixon Peabody Pro Bono Champion, indicating he completed more than 60 hours of pro bono work in the prior year. Dan has primarily focused on litigation matters for pro bono clients.
Dan succeeds Andrew Rose, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department and Cybersecurity & Privacy practice group, who served as Albany office managing partner for the past 16 years. Outside the legal profession, Dan is a member of the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region.
