Providence, RI. The legal publication Corporate Counsel has recognized Nixon Peabody Chief Talent Officer Stacie B. Collier for “Talent Management” as part of the publication’s 2024 Women, Influence & Power in Law (WIPL) Awards.
Stacie focuses on growing and enhancing the firm’s legal talent, and developing and cultivating its people and distinctive culture. From joining Nixon Peabody more than 20 years ago as a junior associate to becoming partner and taking on senior executive leadership roles, she understands the resources that attorneys need to succeed at every stage of their careers.
Stacie is a fierce advocate for mentoring and diversity, equity, and inclusion, serving as chair of the firm’s Professional Personnel Committee and on the advisory board of Temple University Fox School of Business’ Center for Ethics, Diversity and Workplace Culture. She is also a member of Nixon Peabody’s Management Committee, which executes the firm’s strategic plan and oversees its day-to-day operations.
“Nixon Peabody is committed to attracting and retaining top talent, and Stacie is the driving force on those efforts,” said Nixon Peabody CEO and Managing Partner Stephen D. Zubiago. “I’ve been lucky to work alongside Stacie for many years at the firm. She is an outstanding leader, spearheading many initiatives to better serve our clients and our people. We congratulate her on this well-deserved honor.”
In addition to her role as the firm’s Chief Talent Officer, Stacie is a member of the Labor & Employment practice. She represents management in the resolution of employment-related disputes, with the overarching goal of helping clients foster positive employee relations and keeping them out of litigation. She provides strategic advice and counsel focusing on a preventive approach, which includes fielding client questions, reviewing policies, and drafting employment agreements. Stacie also co-chairs Nixon Peabody’s cross-disciplinary Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Strategic Services group, which helps clients assess their DEI strategies and navigate challenges and priorities in this space.
The WIPL awards honor in-house and law firm women leaders and allies who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the empowerment of women in law. The “Talent Management” category recognizes women legal leaders who focus on building a firm culture that helps grow and retain diverse talent.
Stacie and her fellow award recipients were honored at an awards celebration on September 24, 2024, as part of the Women, Influence & Power in Law Conference in Chicago.
