Introduction
Laurie Styka Bloom represents clients in complex and commercial litigation as well as environment-based litigation claims.
Laurie Styka Bloom is a Buffalo-based attorney with a business address in Rochester.
My focus
I use my 30 years of litigation and environmental law experience to assist my clients in solving their disputes efficiently and effectively. My practice is focused on litigation arising out of environmental issues, such as alternative energy, cell tower siting and land use as well as commercial and products liability/personal injury issues.
Environmental
I represent wind energy developers, major cellular telecommunications companies and commercial enterprises bringing or defending land use litigation. Recent successes include concluding multi-year litigation that resulted in an appellate ruling allowing the client to locate a wind farm in central New York. I am currently defending an environmental justice claim in the Bronx, New York.
Commercial
I represent large companies in commercial claims such as breach of contract and trade secret and also defend brokers in securities claims brought by customers.
Products Liability/Personal Injury
My practice includes defending product defect claims and representing a major railroad in FELA (Federal Employers Liability Act) and trespasser personal injury claims.
Looking ahead
I see the opportunity to assist clients in navigating the shift to renewable energy and stewardship of the environment issues and away from remediation issues.
