Michael Prescott is an attorney and business advisor with 30 years of corporate law experience in law firm, in-house, and government settings.
I leverage my diverse work experiences, including as general counsel of a global multibillion-dollar corporation, to get inside my clients’ businesses, to understand their goals, and to achieve their growth objectives.
I have significant experience advising private and public companies on corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and technology licensing. I have decades of experience in the gaming industry and ran a $35-million-per-year business unit licensing an extensive patent portfolio.
In addition, I am currently an adjunct professor at Roger Williams University School of Law teaching contract drafting and transactional lawyering, and I previously served as a senior advisor and special counsel to the former governor of Rhode Island.
I am closely monitoring trends around artificial intelligence (AI) and the potential impact generative and regenerative AI will have on businesses. I anticipate the continued tech transformation and usage of AI will have a positive and very significant effect on workflow automation and productivity but may also pose risks to data privacy.
