Erica Thompson
Associate
Introduction
Erica Thompson works closely with clients in the Affordable Housing group on the development, financing, and regulation of various affordable and public housing projects.
My focus
My practice involves assisting developers, for-profits and nonprofits in their efforts to finance, develop, and preserve affordable housing nationwide. I prepare organizational documents, conduct diligence review, draft loan documents, and assist with closings. My experience includes low-income tax credit deals, loan conversions and refinancings, as well as ground lease acquisitions under the New York City Housing Authority’s Permanent Affordability Commitment Together initiative.
Looking ahead
Governor Kathy Hochul’s New York Housing Compact and Mayor Adams’ City of Yes strategies provide new and plentiful opportunities to create and preserve affordable housing across New York. Our job as practitioners is to guide both long-standing players in the space through those programs, but also to carve a path for new and non-traditional organizations to enter the market.
