Rollin Chan is a consultant at Nixon Peabody CWL in Hong Kong. Rollin was previously the Head of Legal for Deutsche Bank (China) Co. Ltd. He was involved in drafting the People’s Bank of China (PBOC)/National Association of Financial Market Institutional Investors (NAFMII) derivatives master documentation and the Bonds Repo master agreement for the PRC interbank market. His practice includes both corporate transactions and arbitrations.
I work with clients on cross-border investments, securities and debt financings of all forms (loans, bonds, repos and securitizations), including OTC derivatives and structured finance in Asia (particularly PRC).
I am currently a member of the NAFMII Legal Committee and am on the Panel of Arbitrators for Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) and Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). I have been appointed as sole arbitrator, party appointed arbitrator and presiding arbitrator in disputes concerning cross-border investments, international sale of goods and machinery, leasing and management contracts, project development and loans, structured financing and complex financial products.
With the rapid growth of wealth in Asia (particularly in PRC), I see an increasing demand for cross-border management and global diversification of risks and investments for both corporate and private clients. Lawyers with diverse experiences and fluent in multiple languages can offer innovative and effective solutions to the opportunities and challenges abundant in this vibrant part of the world.
