Boston, MA. For the 18th consecutive year, Nixon Peabody LLP earned a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s 2025 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), designating the AmLaw 100 law firm as a recipient of the “Equality 100 Award: Leaders in LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion.”
The CEI is the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. It is compiled annually by the Human Rights Campaign, a leading LGBTQ+ civil rights and advocacy group. The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria in four central pillars: non-discrimination policies across business entities, equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families, supporting an inclusive culture, and corporate social responsibility.
“We are proud to once again achieve a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s CEI,” said Nixon Peabody CEO and Managing Partner Stephen D. Zubiago. “This rating validates our goal of being a firm where LGBTQ+ colleagues can excel and thrive.”
In addition to the CEI, Nixon Peabody recently earned Diversity Lab’s Mansfield Certification Plus for the seventh consecutive year, indicating that at least 30% of the candidates the firm considered for leadership roles came from historically underrepresented groups—including women, racial and ethnic groups, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and those with disabilities.
“LGBTQ+ attorneys and professional staff, as well as other historically underrepresented groups, are integral to our firm’s leadership and our ability to deliver the best service for our clients,” Nixon Peabody Senior Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Ramla Farzad. “We look forward to continuing our work to expand opportunities for our LGBTQ+ colleagues, and we are dedicated to ensuring our firm reflects the clients, communities, and industries we serve.”
